Committees

The Board is supported by five standing committees.

  • Executive Committee.  The officers of the Board of trustees serve as the Executive Committee.
  • Scholarship Committee.  These individuals distribute applications, review applications, and select the students who will receive tuition assistance.  The committee also oversees the recruitments efforts of the program and tracks the academic progress of each student.
  • Mentoring Committee.  This committee assigns a mentor to each scholarship recipient and provides quarterly enrichment programs for mentors, parents/guardians, and students.
  • Publicity Committee is responsible for promoting the organization to the greater Omaha community, facilitating communications within the organization, and providing print and other media materials for distribution.
  • Finance Committee recommends financial policies and goals to the Board of Directors and annually recommends an allocation of funds for scholarships, endowment, and reserves.  The committee also conducts an annual appeal for funds from the general public, seeks corporate and foundation sources of funding, and maintains contribution records.
